What does Barnardo's do?

Barnardo's covers a range of areas such as supported housing, young carers, substance abuse and young people leaving care. The organisation, which is more than 130 years old, also provides counselling, fostering and adoption advice for families and support for those suffering from domestic violence.

Where is it based?

Its head office is based in Essex and it has 383 projects throughout the UK. There are also nine regional offices and 329 Barnardo's shops.

What jobs are available?

Barnardo's employs 6,000 people and offers a range of volunteering opportunities, from working in its shops to various internships. With 11 operational areas, there is a wide range of jobs from advertising through to children's services. The latter area includes positions such as service leaders, practitioners, administrative staff and manual roles.
