Boarding a bus recently I was amused to see an advert on the side whichread: "No more soggy semolina". It was a promotion for the School FoodTrust, which has been set up to improve the quality of school dinnersand has just published a report called A Fresh Look at the School MealExperience.
School meals have taken centre stage in the news recently, and for goodreason after the blasting they took at the hands of Saint JamieOliver.
The School Food Trust report talks about training older pupils inschools to be lunchtime assistants and to mentor younger childrenthrough the lunch break. What a great idea - and what a contrast toschool dinners when I was a child.
