Taken into care at seven, a waif of a child, flailing out wildly; filthywith matted hair. She was placed with a solid foster carer who stood nononsense but offered stability, and most importantly of all for ourgirl, didn't try to take her mum's place.
Because from day one all she wanted to do was go home. Granddad's abusedidn't matter, mum's drug dependency was part of life and after all, mumhad gone on to have another baby - surely she could go home?
She started coming to our group a year ago. It's her only socialactivity.
