Anyone who knows me will tell you that anything with the word "shopping" in it has my undivided attention. Online, offline, corner shop or emporium, I really am the shopping queen of my team. So last Friday's mystery shopping session with Connexions Hertfordshire was eagerly anticipated, and not just by the young people.

Mystery shopping, for anyone who doesn't know, involves what is known as "test purchasing". This means that people pretend to be someone else, try out services and then offer constructive feedback. Confused? Well, the idea is to get honest opinions and check out customer satisfaction.

Already established in industry, this method is being increasingly used with groups of young people to get user feedback on services.
