There is really only one thing to write about this week and that's the Christmas party. From an after-work drink down the pub to Christmas lunch with colleagues or a full-on office party, 'tis the season to fall off your trolley. Or at least wobble around a bit.

Just about all of us have been to a Christmas party at some point. And let's face it, many of them aren't pretty. Most of us have the common sense not to mix business with pleasure but, at this time of year, common sense seems to go flying out of the window.

Otherwise responsible and mature professionals drink too much, eat too much and dance too much. Even if you aren't the one gyrating to Madonna in front of the director of education, you'll have seen someone else living out their fantasy as a "material girl".
