You hear that two community artists who have previous for causing criminal damage through graffiti have won a council contract to help children create murals. What do you do?

If you are The Sun, you run a headline - "Yobs get 8k paint job".Yet their indignation was spoiled by the response of the people theyquoted.

"It's not a bad thing for people who have done bad in the past to bepaid to do something they are good at," said one of the artists.

Manchester councillor Paul Murphy pointed out that it would be"nonsense" to suggest that because the artists were once engaged inanti-social activity they should not be encouraged to do positive worknow. The Sun had a go at suggesting that. It failed.
