I aim to make sure that they are active participants, not just recipients. The strategic element comes from making sure this approach permeates across the board

How did you get the job? I was interviewed by a panel of young people as well as adults, which was a very positive experience. I got the job because I have worked directly in a variety of roles in the youth sector for 15 years and have a professional qualification in youth work.

I also had experience of project and financial management, which was a requirement of this role.

How is Connexions different from traditional youth work? It is different in many ways, mainly work cultures and what the service is trying to do.
