BACK PAGE: And this is what I do - Ed Creed, youth network officer,ActionAid

1 min read

Do you get actively involved outside the office? I am very lucky that my job involves quite a lot of public work out of the office. We want to get out there and enable young people to get involved. Last year we had a tent at the Reading Festival, where about 1,700 young people joined our growing number of members. We are attending this year's festival, and are expecting another great time. My job also enables me to work with the ActionAid team on many campaigns.

How do you get young people involved? The youth network is run primarily for its members. We encourage as much participation as they want, and the issues that are discussed aim to be fun and interesting, without becoming too heavy. The membership is free via our web site. Reading the articles encourages young people to take action such as emailing their MPs and campaigning on the streets.
