Babies given the chance to explore

Early Years
Babies in Peterborough will be able to discover their inner Indiana Jones through new group sessions to be held in one of the city's children's centres.

Baby Explorers, for children under 12 months old, is an initiative allowing babies to explore a wide range of toys, materials and objects.

Joy Griffiths, learning co-ordinator at First Steps Children's Centre, which will be running the sessions, said: "The first 12 months are very important in a child's development and this is an excellent way to stimulate the brain and engage with their inquisitive natures.

"As babies explore and experience life, connections are made between brain cells. The more connections there are, the more they can do," she added.
