Arts: Youth film project links communities

Young film-makers from Peterborough and Cambridge are to showcase their work at a premiere taking place this month.

Young people from the Hamptons and Ortons in Peterborough and Cambridgehave been taking part in Changing Places, a film-making project thataims to bring together communities to share their histories and explorethe places they live.

The young people researched, planned and produced the short film withthe help of a filmmaker. It will be shown at the John Clare Theatre on11 September.

Carlos Harrison, a community-based youth worker for Peterborough YoungPeople's Service, which co-ordinated the project, said: "This has been afantastic opportunity for young people to explore how our environmentcan positively shape our development individually, and as a largercommunity."
