Project: After-school club
Funding: £5,000 from Medway Council's extended schools team
Aim: Keep children off the streets and promote a community atmosphere

Budding film directors from Luton Junior School in Chatham, Kent, have taken part in an after-school project designed to keep children off the streets and promote a sense of community in the area.

Co-ordinated by Medway Council's youth inclusion support panel, the project has seen children create a film to celebrate their local community and the different cultures living in the Medway area.

The panel strives to support young people who are at risk of being involved in crime or antisocial behaviour, providing positive activities to divert them from spending time gathering on the street.
