Arts groups to vie for cash in contest

Youth Work
Arts organisations in Scotland are being invited to bid for funding for youth projects in a Dragons' Den-style competition.

Events are being held in Glasgow in December and Aberdeen in early 2009 where organisations can pitch their ideas for arts activities to help divert young people from crime. If a project is chosen, the charity's £7,500 investment will be matched by a £7,500 CashBack for Communities grant.

Barclay Price, director of Arts and Business Scotland, which is organising the event, said: "We are encouraging arts organisations to use their creativity and to do something different with their sponsorship pitch."
