There are many summer festivals suitable for youth groups, Andy Hillier rounds up some of the best

Chipping Campden 6th Annual Music Festival

Cotswolds, 15-26 May

As the name suggests, this isn't a festival for heavy metal or pop lovers. Instead, the Chipping Campden festival will feature a variety of classical performers. A series of educational workshops will also be held throughout May.

Cost: varies for performances; 1 for students

Radio 1's Big Weekend

Moor Park, Preston, 19-20 May

Billed as Europe's largest free-ticket music festival, this year's event will take place in Moor Park, Preston. The line up is to be confirmed but past performers have included Razorlight and Franz Ferdinand. Tickets are allocated via a ballot.
