Children from Alexander Fleming Primary School in Telford tried their hand at making sculptures at an after-school club last week, with the help of artist Spence Holland. The workshop is part of the Telford Culture Zone scheme, a wider initiative in the borough to broaden children's artistic and cultural horizons. Other activities being offered through the scheme include graffiti art, filming and glass painting. Judy Monro, cultural development officer at Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "The scheme gives children the chance to discover different forms of art." Telford Culture Zone brings together six organisations including: DanceXchange; the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra; Shropshire Activities; the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust; Birmingham REP; and Telford Libraries.
