Aliens are among us - but the worst we have to fear from them is homewor

There's no need to search outer space for extraterrestrials. That's because they're right here under our noses in classrooms across the land, teaching our Earth curriculum, apparently.

A third of five- to 16-year-olds are convinced one of their teachers is an alien, according to a survey picked up by several papers. "Pupils also believe that if there is an alien invasion it is likely to be a friendly one - 72 per cent of the 1,000 polled said they expected the extraterrestrials to be peaceful," reported Metro. That's despite all the homework they dish out.

However, the poll, commissioned by 20th Century Fox to coincide with the release of Aliens in the Attic on DVD, also revealed that nine out of 10 16-year-olds could not name all eight planets in the solar system. Perhaps our alien teachers need to pull their space socks up.
