"There are only three Somali football coaches in the whole of Manchester, so the young kids really look up to us," says Sharmarke Yusuf Muffa, 17, a college student from the Somali community in Manchester. "I'm the co-ordinator and I have two core workers who work alongside me."
Sharmarke got into coaching by taking part in Positive Futures, the Home Office and Football Foundation-funded activity programme. He started out organising informal football games for young people in Burnage, the area of Manchester where he lives.
Programme has evolved
