Abolition Anniversary: Music marks end of slave trade

Dance and drama workshops were used to mark the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade by a school in Cumbria. Year 5 and 6 children from Ashfield Junior School in Workington were working with Wedzi Zvirero of World Muzik Makers on dance and drama based around the themes of slavery and freedom. The event was part of Creative Partnerships' Not From Round Here Festival. The festival gives young people the chance to meet artists from a range of backgrounds and be involved in activities that are part of the artists' culture.
