A summer dance festival was due to take place on 3 July at the Monument in Newcastle. The Scholefield Trust is also offering £7,500 to a youth club in the area that comes up with the best idea for a large-scale youth event to mark the anniversary. Other activities include a range of fishing projects in August.
Jon Niblo, chief executive of Northumberland Clubs for Young People, said: "The 75th anniversary is a great way to raise the profile of the work we do and demonstrate how we are responding to the challenges young people face."
