A play development: Children's commissioner attends play policylaunch

Northern Ireland's children's commissioner Nigel Williams attends the launch of Newtownabbey Borough Council's revised play policy. The updated policy aims to encourage the development of better-designed and more accessible play services. "Play is a vital part of children's development," said Williams. "Children develop through play and learn new skills through play. Play is about fun and children enjoying themselves but we need to take it seriously. I commend Newtownabbey Borough Council for developing the Care to Play policy and I look forward to it being implemented for all children and young people in the borough."
