1 min read Early Years
A charity offering information and support to pregnant women and new parents.

What is the trust?

The National Childbirth Trust (NCT) has been the voice of pregnant women and new parents for more than 50 years. The charity offers information and support through a network of local branches, helplines, antenatal and early days courses, breastfeeding counselling and peer support schemes.

What roles are available?

The NCT employs 60 staff in its London headquarters and 110 home-based staff, including administrators, tutors and development workers. The charity also has about 900 self-employed specialist workers, who work as antenatal teachers, breastfeeding counsellors and postnatal leaders.

Is training available?

Training as a specialist worker takes up to two and a half years on diploma programmes validated by the University of Bedfordshire. There are also many career development opportunities and specialist workers can go on to become advanced workers, assessors or supervisors.
