Ramsden, who joined Salford council in 2014, has been honoured for her work in supporting the development of services for children and young people across Greater Manchester since 2016.

She joins around 50 practitioners, volunteers and campaigners – including professional footballer Marcus Rashford who received an MBE (Member of Order of the British Empire) – to be recognised for their services to vulnerable children and families in the delayed birthday honours.

Ramsden is a qualified social worker and former joint director for children and young people services at Trafford Council, and is vice-president of the Association of Directors of Children’s Services.
