McLoughlin, who joined the council in March 2018, has been honoured for her services to children and young families.

The qualified nurse and social worker celebrated the news on Twitter saying: “I am truly grateful and humbled by this honour.”

She joined around 50 practitioners, volunteers and campaigners - including former children’s commissioner for England Anne Longfield who was awarded a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) - in this year’s honours.

Really honoured and humbled to be recognised in the Birthday Honours 2021 with a CBE for services to children. It continues to be a huge privilege to support children & their families & to work with so many other great people to do so. https://t.co/vodAaFA1ma
