Public encouraged to work with young offenders

1 min read
The Youth Justice Board has launched an advertising campaign to encourage members of the public to volunteer to help young people who have offended.

The poster encourages members of the public to "get involved" in the youth justice system, will appear on buses in Norfolk.

The campaign is backed by the Norfolk Youth Offending Team, Norfolk County Council and First buses.

The posters will be displayed on the backs of ten buses over the next six weeks.

Frances Done, YJB chair, who officially launched the campaign, said: "It is vital that we engage communities to help reduce youth crime and the fear of crime.

"With this campaign, Norfolk YOT is showing great initiative towards encouraging more people to volunteer within the youth justice system."

Norfolk YOT hopes that the posters will encourage more people from rural areas to volunteer while furthering the message that youth crime is not as bad as people think it is.
