A recent survey of parents by the National Centre for Social Researchcites "word of mouth" as the most popular source of information onchildcare. While this will always play a role, it highlights the veryreal risk that groups who traditionally don't access these sorts ofservices will always be at a disadvantage. The recent National AuditOffice report, raising concerns about whether children's centres werereaching the most vulnerable families, also highlighted that manyfamilies they spoke to lacked awareness of the services available tothem and wanted to get more help.
