Police deny nursery worker has identified abused children

1 min read Early Years Social Care
Devon and Cornwall Police have denied that Vanessa George, the nursery worker who abused children in her care, has revealed the identities of her victims.

George pleaded guilty last month to abusing children at Little Ted’s Nursery in Plymouth but refused to identify her victims.

Media reports this week had suggested she has now revealed the names of around 10 victims to police.

But a spokeswoman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Currently, no individual children have been identified."

The spokeswoman did add though that officers are in talks with George’s defence counsel regarding identification, although "it would be inappropriate to go into this further until sentencing is complete".

George, 39, along with Colin Blanchard, 39, from Rochdale and Angela Allen, 39, from Nottingham, who also pleaded guilty to sex abuse charges, will be sentenced at a hearing at Bristol Crown Court on 13 November.

All three met through Facebook and began exchanging messages and images involving children through mobile phones and email.

It is understood that around 30 young children were victims of the abuse.
