Plymouth council works with police on nursery child porn case

Plymouth City Council is working to provide support to police and parents after a local nursery school was closed by police after a female worker was held on suspicion of child porn offences.

Vanessa George, who works at Little Ted's Child Day Care Unit in Laira, was arrested yesterday in connection with distributing indecent images of young children.

A spokeswoman for Plymouth City Council said: "Little Ted's Child Day Care Unit is a privately run nursery that is not connected to the council and is not part of the nearby primary school. It is not managed by the city council or the local school. It rents its premises from both the local school and the local church."

She added that the council is helping police to provide support for the investigation, and for parents of the children who attend the nursery, as well as the wider community.
