
Gloucestershire was directed to improve by the Department for Education after being rated “inadequate” by Ofsted in 2017.
The notice was revoked on 1 April after inspectors judged Gloucestershire’s children’s services “requires improvement to be good” following an inspection in February.
“Significant progress has been made in many areas of Gloucestershire’s children’s services since the last inspection in 2017,” Ofsted’s report states, however it adds that “services for children are not consistently good”.
Inspectors noted a “relentless drive for improvement by both senior leaders and staff” and an increase in funding for children’s services from the council.
