The National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) plans to extend its annual Healthy Body, Happy Me campaign, usually a five-day event, to include the weekend in a bid to get as many parents involved as possible.
The campaign, which will run from Monday 16 March until Sunday 22 March, will comprise seven themed days. Themes include "make some noise day" and "back to nature day". The campaign will culminate with "get cooking day", which is being supported by celebrity chef Phil Vickery.
Purnima Tanuku, chief executive of NDNA, said: "As the week now includes the weekend, members can really get stuck in and involve their parents. This could include organising activities at the nursery or simply giving parents some ideas about how they can carry on the week at home."
NDNA members will receive event support packs to help them get involved this month. Resources include a poster, sunflower seeds, balloons and a window sticker, and members can also download resources from the website.
NDNA's Healthy Body, Happy Me campaign was launched in 2006.
