
Last month the Ministry of Justice announced that all children have been removed from the privately run Rainsbrook STC after inspectors found that levels of violence and staff use of force are high, Physical assaults between children are common, and children are able to bully and intimidate each other.
In a letter responding to Labour's shadow youth justice minister Anna McMorrin on the issue, Conservative youth justice minister Alex Chalk said that "given the seriousness of the issues raised by the inspectorates", the government is "taking this matter seriously and the safety and wellbeing of the children remains at the forefront of our work".
