The annual London Adventure Play awards shortlist 16 playgrounds in London for the top prize, of which Shakespeare Walk - known as SWAPA - emerged victorious.
The children from Shakespeare Walk won with their video-based award entry that showed footage of them building, playing in the snow and putting on impromptu shows. It also featured an original soundtrack made by the young people in their on-site sound studio.
The awards ceremony was held at Prince Charles Cinema in London’s West End on 26 October, where 250 children attended to watch the short film entries and find out the results.
Other winners included The Markfield Project in Haringey for the Weird and Wonderful Award, Triangle Adventure Playground in Lambeth for Best Flick, and Barnard Adventure Playground in Islington for Playworker Dream Team.
