HACKNEY CHILDREN'S CENTRE TO DEVELOP SERVICES

Work is underway to develop the facilities on offer at a children's centre in Hackney, east London.

The Woodberry Down Children's Centre currently offers a range of family services including midwifery, newborn services, counselling, services for under fives, nursery, crche and play group facilities.
The Hackney Learning Trust is working with independent consultant Fiona Mortlock, who is project managing the work. She said: "I am here to support the head of centre. It's finding out what's in place, what works, then looking at what gaps there are."
She is hoping to introduce out-of-school clubs and extended school facilities and other services at the centre.
The work is being done as part of a 10-year regeneration of the Woodbury Down estate.
