In year 1 at school I found it really hard to concentrate in class. I fell so behind in my work as I was in and out of hospital with a rare form of cancer and I needed a bone marrow transplant to make me better. I hated school and cried whenever I had to go as I was so frustrated. It was so hard for me.

I fell so behind in my work as I was in and out of hospital with a rare form of cancer and I needed a bone marrow transplant to make me better. I hated school and cried whenever I had to go as I was so frustrated. It was so hard for me.

The teachers tried as much as possible to help and reassure me, but I wanted just to be normal. I had nearly eight months off school after my transplant, which is a long time and I missed so much.
