The inspectorate reviewed a representative sample of youth offending cases in Doncaster earlier this year and judged the quality of local work to three criteria.
In the "risk of harm to others" category, workers were given a 57 per cent score, below the national average of 62 per cent. This was judged to require "substantial" improvements to be made.
Safeguarding work scored at 64 per cent, below the national average of 67 per cent, and the likelihood of young offenders reoffending was rated at 66 per cent, compared to a national average of 69 per cent. The report stated that these aspects should see "moderate" improvements made in the future.
