Working in Southmead for Health (Wish) is managing the group with local family support project Better Together. The group will initially help boys aged between nine and 11 years old and was set up after Wish worked with mothers coming out of abusive relationships who said they were concerned about the actions of their sons.
The group will initially be called the Boys' Group, but the children involved will set the agenda and pick their own name if they want to. Eight boys are set to attend the group's 10 two-hour sessions after school. Before they start, work will be done with the child's parents to learn more about their actions.
