The fourth annual SEND Summit will take place on 19 June at London’s Cavendish Conference Centre.

The event will examine progress to date on key goals one year on from the publication of the SEND and AP Improvement Plan and highlight areas where more work needs to be done.

Chaired by CYP Now editor Derren Hayes, the SEND Summit: Policy Reform & Practice Impact will see keynote speeches from Nasen chief executive Annamarie Hassell on the progress of the reforms and Hero Slinn director for skills and inclusion at Hertfordshire County Council on the importance of investing in the SEND workforce.

Delegates will also attend a Big Debate on re-imagining the education system for children and young people with SEND.

A range of breakout sessions will take place on topics including improving outcomes and opportunities for deaf children, supporting the transition to adulthood for young people with learning disabilities and implications of families’ financial pressures on professional practice.

The event is open to practitioners and leaders across all education and health settings as well as to local authorities and the voluntary and community sector.
