
The system, which was introduced last week, should alert anyone who has been in close contact with a person testing positive for the virus, instructing them to self-isolate for two weeks.
Close contacts are classed as anyone the infected person has spent 15 minutes or more with at a distance of less than two metres or anyone they have had direct contact with such as household members or people with whom you have had face-to-face conversations at a distance of less than one metre.
The contact must have taken place between two days before and up to seven days after symptoms appeared.
