CHILDCARE CHIEFS FORM CAMPAIGN GROUP

1 min read
The chiefs of five leading childcare organisations have formed a campaigning forum.

Made up of the heads of the Daycare Trust, 4Children, National Childminding Association, National Day Nurseries Association and the Pre-School Learning Alliance, the Childcare Forum will represent 350,000 childcare providers across the UK. Key campaign issues for the forum include long-term sustainability and workforce development within the sector.
Steve Alexander, chief executive of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and chair of the forum, said the members had been meeting to discuss issues for a number of months and had now decided to make the arrangement more formal.
"With our joint membership representing the interests of a vast swathe of childcare stakeholders, we believe we are well-placed to present solutions for how the aims of the ambitious 10-year strategy can be translated into a reality," he said.
Liz Bayram, chief executive of the National Childminding Association, added: "This forum helps us to more effectively explore where a collective approach will bring most benefit to the children and families we support, and help us speak with one voice on shared issues and concerns."
