The organisations said they were exploring a merger in July due to Redthread facing “major financial challenges”.
It was confirmed last month (August) with Catch22 announcing that “Redthread is now officially part of the Catch22 group”.
The merger is designed to ensure that “vital services” provided by Redthread, including embedding youth workers in A&E departments, “can continue and grow, with the commitment to the children and young people who need these services being the primary focus”.
The organisations currently work together to co-deliver The Social Switch Project, which helps protect young people from online harms.
Naomi Hulston, chief executive of Catch22, said: “We’ve worked closely with Redthread for a long time and know how well respected they are within the sector and how impactful – and much needed – their services are. The number of young people affected by violence continues to rise and there are many who are reliant on the vital support that Redthread provides.
