This included "disestablishing" eight early years quality and inclusion posts but creating six new posts of consultant early years professional with two of the posts being held back for a trainee scheme. A spokesman for the council said there will be no redundancies, describing the changes as a "realignment" enabling the posts to sit alongside school improvement. "The team benefit from being part of a larger team and modelling itself more closely on that."
