The Community Fund, which has been supporting communities using National Lottery funding for 30 years, has announced its new strategy for 2023 to 2030, called It Starts With Community.

The strategy’s ambition is to create resilient communities that are inclusive and environmentally sustainable and comes after consultations with 18,000 people and organisations across the UK.

The strategy is focused on three key areas:

Doubling down on grassroots community funding

Aspiring for bolder change for big challenges through community-led missions

Supporting life-changing projects across the UK.

The fund stated that its grassroots funding is where it has the furthest reach and creates the most volunteering opportunities, and so it will be doubling down on its grassroots initiatives. Under the new strategy, the fund will be doubling the size of the possible grant award available to £20,000, as well as the length of time that the project can run for.
