Each round of funding will focus on different strategic priorities outlined in this strategy, which was developed in partnership with 100 young people.
The first round will offer flexible grants to organisations that help young people from marginalised communities develop the skills and confidence they need to become future leaders and activists.
Grants are unrestricted, meaning organisations can use it to further their mission however they choose, but the work must actively engage with young people from diverse backgrounds and deliver meaningful youth social action.
How much is available?
The Co-op Foundation has allocated £1.5m to the first round of the fund, offering up to £30,000 to successful applicants per year over a five-year period. Applicants can apply for a smaller amount or a shorter duration, if better suited to the organisation's objectives. This is unrestricted funding, meaning successful applicants can decide for themselves how best to apply the funding to deliver the organisation's mission.
