The fund – a partnership between UK Youth and the Pears Foundation – comes as youth organisations are facing a higher demand for essential services as families face choosing between paying for food or heating their homes while, at the same time, the youth sector workforce is shrinking as paid staff and volunteers move on in search of higher paid roles.

Similarly, youth organisations are seeing an increase in running costs due to larger energy, food and fuel bills, whilst income and fundraising have decreased because of inflation and fewer donations.

How much is available?

Grants up to the value of 10 per cent of an applicant organisation's income will be available. So, if your organisation had a turnover of £250,000 last year then applicants would be expected to ask for no more than £25,000 a year. The funders say there may be some exceptions to this rule, but even then it is unlikely to be much above the 10 per cent threshold.
