Funding The City Bridge Trust makes grants of £15m a year. There is no minimum or maximum amount but the trust's grant must not be the largest that an organisation receives that year.
Funder Originally called the Bridge House Trust, the City Bridge Trust recently changed its name to better reflect the charity's remit. Originally, Bridge House Estates was set up to maintain London Bridge. Today the charity supports all the City bridges: London; Tower; Southwark; Blackfriars; and the Millennium Bridge. Its grant-making arm was set up in 1995 to support charitable activity benefiting those in Greater London. Any year's income above that needed to maintain the bridges goes to the trust. In its first 10 years, the trust gave grants worth more than £170m.
