Funding Funding is available for organisations whose projects fall under one of five categories: education, financial education, community support, social inclusion, and grassroots sport. The board of Cheshire Building Society's Cheshire Foundation makes decisions on funding applications in January, April, July and October, and board members include building society staff and people from the local community. Applications for funding of more than £150 are considered. The foundation also runs a Community Contribution Award scheme, which allows branch managers to support smaller projects in their local area.
Funder Cheshire Building Society
Aim To offer financial support to registered charities.
Who can apply? The foundation follows a strict policy of offering funding only to registered charities that are either based in the north-west of England or have a project in a region where there is a building society branch. It is not necessary for organisations applying for the Community Contribution Award to be a registered charity, but their work must fall under one of the five listed categories. Application forms can be downloaded from the website or picked up at a branch.
