The scheme is designed to encourage young people to pick a theme to explore in an international context and work towards an outcome of their choice. Examples of activities the fund suggests are for the partners to conduct a science experiment together, or to set up a mini-company or marketing campaign.
How much is on offer? The fund normally provides half of the overall cost of the project but in exceptional circumstances it will cover 75 per cent of the costs. Grants are available to large and small projects and can be anything up to £5,000.
What will it fund? Schools, further education colleges and youth groups involving young people up to the age of 25 in the UK and Germany are all able to apply for a grant. The grants can go towards resources, joint activities and reciprocal partner visits, as part of a contribution to the overall costs.
