HULA RELAY

Aim The young people work together to pass the hula-hoops around a circle without breaking hands.

You will need

How to do it Invite the young people to form a large circle and hold hands. Explain to them that this is a game of speed and skill, and set three rules.

Unlock the joined hands of two young people, place the first hula-hoop over their wrists, and then rejoin their hands. Repeat on the opposite side of the circle.

On the word "go" the clock starts and the two hula-hoops should move around the circle as quickly as possible back to their starting position. The first hula-hoop must travel clockwise around the circle and the second anti-clockwise. Remind the young people that their hands must stay locked together at all times. Lead a group cheer as the hoops get back to their original place.
