Derren Hayes talks to Ellen Broome, chief executive of the Family and Childcare Trust.

In April, Ellen Broome was appointed joint chief executive of the Family and Childcare Trust (FCT) in a three-days-a-week job share with Julia Margo. However, just two months into the arrangement, Margo announced she was leaving FCT, which she joined in 2015, to take over at the Genesis Research Trust - a charity that raises money for research into the causes and cures of conditions that affect the health of babies and mothers. As a result, Broome will take over as sole chief executive, a challenge she says she is relishing.

Providing 30 hours of free childcare for all three- and four-year-olds from September has been criticised for being under-funded. Do you think it will be successfully delivered?
