INSPIRATIONAL FEMALES

Name of project: Inspirational Females

Aim: To give young women the chance to gain skills and confidence by planning and organising an event to mark International Women's Day on 8 March

Funding: Supported by Bedfordshire County Council youth service and a youth opportunity fund grant of £6,490

"We're going to prove a group of young women can do more things than have babies and that kind of stuff," says 13-year-old Renelle Campbell.

Renelle is one of the Bedford-based Inspirational Females group, which planned an event to mark International Women's Day on 8 March. The group, set up by Bedford Area Youth Team youth worker Emma Lilly, got off the ground last September.
