New Year Honours: Children's sector workers rewarded

1 min read
Last year's president of the Association of Directors of Social Services, Andrew Cozens, has spoken of his pride after being awarded a CBE in the New Year Honours list.

Cozens, the director of social services at Leicester Council, was given the award for his services to social work.

He said: "It has been a privilege to play a leading role in shaping the future of social work. What we do touches thousands of people's lives every day and this is an honour for me, for social work, for Leicester and for all the staff who have worked with me locally and nationally."

Among the other professionals from the children's sector rewarded for their work was Naomi Eisenstadt, director of the Sure Start Unit in the Department for Education and Skills, who was made a Companion of the Order of the Bath.
