As the grandson of a survivor, the Holocaust has always been a highly relevant moment in history to me. The problem is that many people my age regard it as simply a page in their textbooks.

During a conversation with my grandmother, she told me that "it is of the utmost importance that we must not forget". These words got me thinking, and led me to create @MemorialProject, a campaign aimed at increasing awareness of the horrifying event.

I started a Twitter campaign where people had to complete the tweet: "It is important to remember the Holocaust because..."

The project has received hundreds of retweets, messages and words of support from people from all walks of life. I hope to receive many more.
